What Should the Church Be?
This is the question that drives us - because we believe the church is not living up to its potential. Let's face it, most people don't like church, they think its boring, irrelevant, outdated, judgmental. Positive thoughts usually do not come to mind when someone brings up the subject.
But why is this?
The church is the carrier of the greatest message ever given to humanity - that God is pursuing us, that He desires to put us back together again, to make all things right.
That should be a message we all long to hear, the message that brings our soul satisfaction.
We don't want to be just another church, another building taking up space because Milwaukee doesn't need that. What Milwaukee needs is a group of people willing to break their lives open and pour themselves out for the benefit of others - to partner with God to put the world back together again.
The church is at its best when it serves, when it sacrifices all that it is for the benefit of those outside its walls.
We are certainly not perfect - but this is what we want to strive to be, what we are journeying towards - Not what the church has been or even what it is - but what we believe it has the potential to be. A relevant part of our life - your life. A station of hope and rest for the broken, the weary and the lonely that brings peace to each life it intersects.
