Youth & Children's Summer Internships

Would you be interested in spending your summer with a highly relational urban church working in an incredible youth or children's ministry reaching out to kids and teens living in the city? Whether you are preparing for ministry or just want to spend your summer impacting lives for the Kingdom then we would love to talk more!

Transformation City Church is a multi-ethnic church in the heart of Milwaukee with an incredible passion for God's justice and compassion. We have openings for 4 urban interns this summer: 2 children's ministry interns and 2 youth ministry interns. You will find yourself immersed in city life and ministry as you work alongside our incredible team of staff and volunteers.

We will provide housing, training and first-hand experience working in and among our under-resourced neighborhoods and beyond. You'll live in the neighborhood, listen to the neighborhood and love the neighborhood.

These internships have a degree of flexibility built in so a specific time frame can be worked out for each individual, ranging from 12-16 weeks. Summer camps, VBS (for kids), neighborhood cookouts and lots of one-on-one time will all be included.

TCC follows CCDA ( principles and has a staff of 7 so you will have a life-changing opportunity to learn from practitioners and pastors who have a passion for seeing the church impact the city.

If you are interested, check out our website and then contact us at: and we'll get back to you ASAP.

There are few better ways to spend your summer than in this incredible city and ministry. This experience will truly change your life and leave a lasting impact on the lives of so many kids and teens.

These are non-paid positions and include housing but each intern will be responsible for their own food and everyday expenses. Personal support raising is encouraged.

2-Year internships

TCC has several available positions for a 2-year intern staff program in urban youth and urban children’s ministries. These positions are unpaid so bi-vocational employment or personal support raising will be necessary.

Interns are considered pastoral staff and join a staff of 8 (a mix of full and part-time staff) and grow into leaders within TCC. The leaders and staff will pour into these interns through intentional discipleship and ministry training and theological reflection. These two years will be spent intentionally developing urban ministry workers by helping to understand the joys, difficulties and theology of urban ministry.  Interns are surrounded by a team of experienced pastors and leaders to train, teach, equip and empower them to serve the Kingdom in this vital way. Interns take part in weekly staff meetings, conference trainings and ongoing discipleship.

A 2-year commitment is required to apply for this position. Why so long? Because relationships take time to develop and we feel that a primary rule of urban ministry is long-term commitment. We are not looking for people who want a resume builder – we want those people who feel called or are exploring a call to urban ministry and are ready to learn, listen and give their lives to those who we are called to love.

If you are interested in applying for this position please send a letter of interest stating why you are interested in this opportunity with basic biographical information (no resumes please) to Jason Butler, Lead Pastor. Jason will contact you within two weeks of receiving your letter of interest. Thanks!
